This Weevil is likely Phyllobius pomaceus a Nettle Weevil. It is shown just ready to fly off a Nettle Leaf where it was basking in the sun It can be duistnguished from similar Polydrusus sp by noting that the antennal insertons can be seen from above amongst other distinguishing features
This little Moth feeds on the Gorse Seed Pods AKA Grey Gorse Pincher and in NZ in a different form is used in biological control
