Length 9-10 mm

Description 

There are a number of  number Aphrophora confusion species   Aphrophora alni is likely the  most common  and widespread. It can  can be recognised by the midline keel running down the of the head and pronotum, and the species recognised by patternation of colour  with distinctive  white patches near the margin of the wings (Caution on  similarly-coloured Morphs of Philaenus spumarius, and  other Aphrophora species
