VC63 - Garden Moths - Underwings 23rd August 2019

Weather Warm circa 12-15 o

Method Actinic 20 W Robinson

Friday 23rd August 2019

Other Entomology   Tipula maxima ( Cranefly )

The Predominant Moth was the LY  Under Wing Totalling about 40 or more ,. these really meritted closer inspection as there were likely other Underwing Species amongst them. I am pretty certain there was a Least Yellow with the forewings being a bright fulvous-brown colour and yellow flash on release but in haste was released without imaging

Check this LINK for a quick Pictorial overview and Guide to Identification of Underwings
